South African Airways Adds Festive Season Flights to Key Routes
South African Airways (SAA) will increase flight frequencies across several regional and international routes from 1 October 2025 to meet rising demand during the peak festive season. The Johannesburg–Lagos and Johannesburg–Accra routes will each operate six times weekly, with additional services on Mondays and Tuesdays for Lagos, and Wednesdays and Fridays for Accra. Johannesburg–São Paulo flights will see extra capacity from 10 December 2025, with additional services on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The expanded schedule runs until 11 February 2026 and aims to provide greater travel flexibility for both leisure and business travellers during the high-traffic holiday period, which includes major regional and international events. SAA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Tebogo Tsimane, said the move strengthens the airline’s network while supporting connectivity between Africa and major global destinations.
