South Africa to host inaugural LIV Golf tournament
South Africa will host the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa Tournament at Steyn City Golf Club in Gauteng from 19–22 March 2026. An international field including Jon Rahm, Cam Smith, Bryson DeChambeau and local champion Louis Oosthuizen is set to compete, spotlighting the country’s golf infrastructure, hospitality and wider tourism offering.
South African Tourism said the partnership aims to attract international visitors and encourage longer stays, with fan experiences planned across the four days, including food and beverage zones, a lively 16th “Party Hole” and daily live music. The event is expected to benefit local hospitality, transport, events and creative sectors, supporting destination visibility and visitor spending.
