South Africa Launches Easter Tourism Campaign in Cape Town

Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille has launched South Africa’s official Easter campaign under the banner "South Africa Awaits – Come Find Your Joy!" The campaign, unveiled at Atlantis Dunes in Cape Town, promotes both domestic and international tourism with a focus on experiences in lesser-known destinations and smaller towns across the country. The initiative comes ahead of the Easter holidays, highlighting accessible adventure activities like quad biking and sandboarding, and encouraging support for local travel businesses.
Domestic travel continues to gain momentum in South Africa, with affordability, off-the-beaten-path destinations, and personalised experiences driving demand. International arrivals are also recovering strongly, with nearly 1.8 million visitors recorded in the first two months of 2025—a 4.7% year-on-year increase. The campaign taps into these trends, aiming to inspire residents and global visitors alike to explore the country’s diverse offerings, while contributing to inclusive economic growth through tourism.
