Silverback Lodge Relaunches in Uganda, Setting a New Benchmark for Conservation-Led Luxury in Bwindi
On World Wildlife Day, 3 March 2026, Marasa Africa officially relaunched Silverback Lodge in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, unveiling a fully rebuilt flagship property designed with a light environmental footprint and a renewed commitment to responsible tourism.
Perched above one of the oldest rainforests on Earth, the lodge offers 12 intimate guest rooms, private terraces overlooking the canopy, and exclusive access to mountain gorilla trekking, all within a framework supporting conservation and community programmes.
“Conservation has to be lived, not just spoken about,” says Tanya Madhvani, Founder of Marasa Africa. Silverback embodies a generational commitment to East Africa, combining contemporary design, local craftsmanship, and eco-conscious practices.
