Seychelles tourism minister backs La Digue’s Rendezvous Diguois
Seychelles’ Minister for Tourism and Culture, Amanda Bernstein, made her first official visit to La Digue on 6 December 2025 to attend the special December edition of Rendezvous Diguois. The quarterly Creole Rendezvous programme, launched in September 2022 on La Digue and Praslin, brings residents and visitors together to celebrate Seychellois culture and supports the islands’ cultural tourism offer.
The two‑day Christmas edition featured children’s activities, carols, moutya performances, traditional Creole food and a market of locally crafted gifts. During the visit, the minister met tourism and cultural stakeholders at La Digue Community Centre to discuss collaboration and future support, and visited key sites including L’Union Estate and La Digue Library. She praised partners and signalled plans to work closely with local communities to strengthen and safeguard the island’s cultural identity.
