On 7 August 2024, the Seychelles Tourism Department held a strategic workshop with key stakeholders from the hospitality, tourism, and transport sectors to address the challenges of the off-peak season. The meeting, which took place at the STC Conference Room, aimed to develop actionable strategies for boosting tourism during quieter months.

The workshop featured presentations from industry leaders, including Principal Secretary Mrs. Sherin Francis, who emphasised the need to leverage events such as the Beach Soccer World Cup and Seychelles Nature Trail Challenge to attract visitors. Discussions focused on understanding visitor preferences, optimising revenue through special packages, and employing innovative pricing strategies.

Key presentations from Mr. Chris Matombe, Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, and Mr. Allen Cedras provided insights into visitor data, emerging market trends, and the role of digital technology. Suggestions from attendees included enhanced event offerings, improved infrastructure, and combined tourism packages.

These proposals will form part of a comprehensive action plan, with a steering committee overseeing its implementation. The Seychelles Tourism Department plans to provide updates in its end-of-year marketing review.
