Seychelles Honours 42 Tourism Businesses for Sustainable Practices
The Seychelles Tourism Department recognised 42 tourism providers for their environmental efforts during the first Sustainable Seychelles Recognition & Certification Ceremony of 2025, held at Eden Bleu Hotel on 3 April. The initiative, part of the Sustainable Seychelles brand, highlights businesses integrating long-term sustainability into their operations, with all new awardees attaining Silver level certification.
The event also introduced the programme’s highest accolade, the Sustainable Seychelles Platinum Award, granted to Constance Ephelia Resort for sustained excellence over ten years. An additional six properties were re-certified, reaffirming ongoing commitment to environmental best practices. The Sustainable Seychelles programme, supported by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, is open to accommodation providers, tour operators and restaurants, and forms a key pillar in the islands’ strategy to promote a more responsible tourism sector.
