Seychelles and Egypt Deepen Tourism Collaboration During Diplomatic Visit

Seychelles and Egypt have strengthened bilateral ties following a high-level visit to Cairo by Seychelles’ Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, from 5–6 April 2025. The two nations signed a visa waiver agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, with discussions underway to extend the scheme to ordinary passport holders—a move that could boost tourism flows between the countries.

In meetings with Egypt’s Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in hospitality training and workforce exchange. The visit also included broader discussions on mutual priorities such as climate change, maritime security, and health sector collaboration—highlighting the growing diplomatic and tourism partnership between the island nation and North Africa’s largest destination.
