Alex Walker’s Serian and Ikuka Safari Camp have combined their properties into a stunning 8 night safari itinerary which celebrates the very best of what Tanzania can offer – the Great Migration of the Serengeti with the vast wilderness and wildlife of Ruaha National Park.

Serian Lamai and Ikuka Safari Camp have shared values with both being privately owned and run camps where the focus is on experience, exclusivity, and access to nature. This combination safari allows clients to enjoy the very best of the Serengeti and the Migration staying in Serian’s Lamai camp in the open plains of the Lamai Wedge which are incredibly beautiful and abundant in game. The landscape here is reminiscent of scenes from Out of Africa, and there is plenty of freedom to roam and explore. The camp is situated opposite Crossing Point 4, midway among all crossing points along the river – and is perfectly positioned to spectate the wildebeest river crossings. Away from the river, this area of rolling savannah, boulder-strewn hillsides and fig-tree groves, is littered with inconceivably enormous herds of wildebeest, topi and zebra as well as all the predators that gorge on this movable feast. After 4 nights at Serian Lamai you can then make use of the new Safari Air Link schedule between Serengeti and Ruaha running 3 times per week (Sunday/Wednesday/Friday) direct from Kogatende or Seronera to Ruaha NP (minimum 2 pax applies on this new schedule when onward flights are booked with SAL, for full t's and c's get in touch).

After landing in Ruaha’s Msembe airstrip your clients can then enjoy 4 nights staying at the stunning Ikuka Safari Camp which, like Serian, is an intimate, authentically luxurious camp perched on the Mwagusi escarpment commanding spectacular views across the Ruaha valley. Comprised of just 7 beautifully appointed rooms, each with its own panoramic vista of the Ruaha wilderness, Ikuka offers a compelling insight into the dramatic wilds of Ruaha and Tanzania. Ikuka fuses stylish simplicity with luxurious comfort into a camp which feels like a home from home in the bush. Unlike many lodges in Ruaha the elevated location of Ikuka means that the lodge enjoys a cool breeze throughout camp in the heat of the day so guests can relax in comfort after their morning game drive, enjoy the pool or simply soak up the incredible views.

Both Serian and Ikuka are perhaps best known for their excellent guiding offering both in-vehicle game drives or more immersive walking safari experiences, perfect add-ons to this safari experience.
