Serengeti Balloon Safaris to commence flying in Northern Tanzania

Serengeti Balloon Safaris, who have pioneered ballooning in Tanzania since 1989 and even flown Britain’s monarch King Charles, is delighted to announce it will be re-opening its Northern Serengeti flight operations from 8th June. Flying in a Serengeti Balloon Safaris flight over the northern Serengeti is a truly bucket list experience and one which never fails to be the highlight of people’s safari.

The launch location for Serengeti Balloons Safaris in northern Serengeti is alongside the Mara River so you can enjoy not only the spectacle of soaring over the migration but also the magic of witnessing the Mara River from the air and any migrating wildebeest and zebra crossing the river.

We had another stunning flight here in Northern Serengeti this morning. The balloons slowly floated West along the Mara river for short distance, which made for exceptional wildlife viewing including Hippos in and out, Crocodiles, Impalas, Baboons, Gazelles, Topi, Giraffes, Hyenas, Wildebeest, Zebras and Buffaloes.

The balloons continued at various altitudes south of the Mara river then over the rolling hills of the north for some spectacular views from above. The balloons continued south of Sayari camp, where we had further exceptional wildlife sightings including huge migration herds, more Giraffe’s, Hyenas, Topi, Oribi, Warthogs, more Buffalo, many Eland’s and just before landing all the balloons saw a massive herd of migration. The three balloons made light landings just before Mara Mara road.
