Saxon Hotel unveils culinary and design revamp

Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa in Johannesburg has undergone a large renovation of its culinary experiences and spaces. The revamp, led by interior designer Nelson Kubheka of Ommni Design, includes the refurbishment of the fine dining restaurant Qunu, The Olive Bar, Piano Lounge, Terrace and Lobby.
Qunu, under Executive Chef Matthew Foxon, now offers menus that blend South African culinary heritage with contemporary influences. The Olive Bar has doubled in size, featuring a wraparound bar and intimate lounge areas. The Piano Lounge has been redesigned with modern seating and live music, whilst the Terrace now provides an enhanced al fresco dining experience with stunning views.
George Cohen, Managing Director, stated that this transformation reflects the hotel's commitment to excellence, blending respect for its 24-year heritage with visionary design for the future. The renovations aim to deliver unparalleled hospitality in a setting that honours the past whilst embracing modernity.
