Sasaab becomes a Global Ecosphere Retreat

Sasaab has achieved Global Ecosphere Retreat® status, one of the highest sustainability standards in the world as recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Owned and run by The Safari Collection, this spectacular lodge in northern Kenya offers its guests incredible safari experiences in the wilderness of the Samburu area whilst making a positive difference to biodiversity and communities nearby.

Awarded by The Long Run, GER® status means that Sasaab is a centre of sustainability excellence and has reached a holistic balance between the 4Cs: Community, Conservation, Culture and Commerce. The certification process has been rigorous and with only 12 properties around the world attaining GER® status, we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team’s commitment to making this fantastic achievement happen.
