Sarova Hotels grows its portfolio as it takes up management of a luxury boutique lodge in the Mara

Sarova Hotels has signed a management contract with the McCarthy Family to manage the luxury boutique lodge, Spirit of the Masai Mara, located within the Siana Conservancy, in Masai Mara Game Reserve with 10 spacious, air-conditioned luxury suites built on solid stone structures, which uniquely blend traditional materials with a contemporary design.

Sarova Hotels Managing Director, Jimi Kariuki noted that the company’s foray into the luxury boutique segment was in line with their strategy of offering a diverse guest experience. “Time has come for Sarova Hotels to expand the brand into the luxury and exclusive market. Sarova Stanley has long stood out as a luxury 5-star property within the city, also winning numerous global awards. It is this strength and experience that we want to replicate in a luxury boutique lodge.”

With Masai Mara Game Reserve being one of the top destinations globally, Sarova Hotels will tap into the international market for an aggressive marketing campaign. Locally, the group will look at appealing to the discerning luxury domestic traveller yearning for an exclusive experience.

Sarova Hotels will also continue investing in its existing properties through soft upgrades and major renovations. Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa is on the last phase of the 338 guest rooms’ upgrade. A major renovation of Sarova Panafric is underway, and will encompass the construction of a new outside catering section and refreshing the guest rooms.
