SanParks Empowers Local SMMEs with Tsitsikamma Workshop

South African National Parks (SanParks) has hosted a Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME) Information Workshop at the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park, reaffirming its support for community-based economic development. Held on 18 June 2025, the session drew over 80 entrepreneurs from surrounding communities and focused on building business capacity, understanding procurement processes, and accessing funding opportunities.
The workshop is part of SanParks’ Vision 2040 strategy and its Mega Living Landscapes initiative, which includes integrating Tsitsikamma into the Greater Addo region. Delivered in partnership with SSA Investments and the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency, the event covered topics such as tender processes and financial support, including the SanParks Sanlam Fund. This zero-interest facility helps SMMEs bridge funding gaps when securing contracts. The initiative also fostered networking between SanParks and local businesses, aiming to enhance inclusive economic participation in the tourism ecosystem.
