SANParks announces renovation works at Mapungubwe accommodation facilities

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced renovation works at the popular Leokwe and Mazhou accommodation facilities in Mapungubwe National Park. The upgrades form part of ongoing efforts to improve tourism infrastructure and enhance the visitor experience at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its archaeological significance, wildlife and dramatic landscapes.

The renovations are expected to support the park’s long-term tourism sustainability while maintaining visitor access to one of South Africa’s most historically important conservation areas. SANParks continues investing in infrastructure improvements across its network of protected areas as domestic and international tourism demand continues recovering.
