SalamAir to launch direct Muscat–Kigali route from July 2026

Oman’s low-cost carrier SalamAir has announced a new direct route between Muscat and Kigali, with flights scheduled to begin on 21 July 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The service will operate twice weekly, providing a more accessible and affordable travel option between the Middle East and East Africa.

The new route forms part of SalamAir’s broader expansion across Africa, targeting high-growth and underserved markets. It is expected to support increased tourism, business travel and trade between Oman and Rwanda, while strengthening Kigali’s position as a key regional hub and gateway to East Africa’s growing tourism offering.
