SalamAir expands African network with new Kigali route
SalamAir has announced a new direct route between Muscat and Kigali, Rwanda, further expanding its growing footprint across Africa. Flights are scheduled to begin on 21 July 2026, operating twice weekly between Oman and Rwanda’s capital, subject to regulatory approvals. The route forms part of the airline’s strategy to connect underserved and high-growth markets through affordable and direct air services.
The new connection is expected to support tourism, business travel and trade between the Middle East and East Africa, while strengthening Kigali’s role as a regional hub. Rwanda continues to position itself as a leading destination for eco-tourism, conferences and investment, with improved connectivity seen as key to sustaining tourism growth and broader economic development.
