SAA and CemAir sign domestic codeshare
South African Airways and CemAir have signed an exclusively domestic codeshare to expand connectivity between major cities and regional leisure hubs across South Africa. Announced on 16 January in Johannesburg, the agreement will see both airlines place their codes on each other’s flights, offering single‑ticket itineraries, through‑checked baggage and integrated booking across official websites, mobile apps and agents. Ticket sales for codeshare flights open on 26 January 2026.
The partnership extends SAA’s reach to destinations on CemAir’s network – including George, East London, Gqeberha, Margate, Kimberley, Hoedspruit and Mala Mala – strengthening access for business and tourism travel. The move aims to improve flexibility and reliability while supporting visitor flows to secondary destinations and rural economies.
