RwandAir to Launch Direct Kigali–Zanzibar Route from November
RwandAir has announced the launch of a direct flight between Kigali and Zanzibar, commencing on 30 November 2025. The new route aims to improve regional connectivity by offering a seamless one-stop travel option to Zanzibar from markets such as the UK, via Kigali. The move is expected to enhance access to the island’s key attractions, including UNESCO-listed Stone Town and its renowned beaches, by minimising layovers for international visitors.
The Kigali–Zanzibar service will further position Kigali International Airport as a growing regional hub, supporting Rwanda’s broader ambitions in aviation and tourism. By connecting safari experiences in Rwanda with coastal tourism in Zanzibar, the route encourages multi-destination travel across East Africa and supports broader economic and tourism growth in both countries.
