RwandAir resumes direct Mombasa service
RwandAir has restarted direct flights to Mombasa after a five-year hiatus, resuming the route on 1 December following its last operation in 2019. Marked at Moi International Airport, the reinstated service will operate four times weekly – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays – supporting regional connectivity and boosting leisure and business travel to Kenya’s coast.
The return makes Mombasa RwandAir’s second Kenyan destination after Nairobi. Kenya Airports Authority welcomed the move as a vote of confidence in aviation infrastructure and coastal tourism, with the airline expecting strong festive‑season demand. The service is positioned to strengthen East Africa’s travel corridor, stimulate local economies and expand options for intra‑regional trade and tourism.
