Rwanda: Parliament Passes Bill Setting Tourism Tax

Rwanda's Parliament has unanimously passed a bill introducing a 3% tourism tax on accommodation charges. This levy applies to all registered accommodation establishments, including hotels, motels, lodges, apartments, and Airbnb facilities. The tax aims to generate additional revenue to support the country's tourism and hospitality sectors. The bill received approval from all 70 Members of Parliament present during the plenary session on Monday, April 28, 2025 .
