Royal Air Maroc posts record profits as fleet expansion accelerates

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) recorded profits exceeding 2 billion Moroccan dirhams (approximately $212 million) in 2025 - up nearly 154% year-on-year - as revenues rose 8% to 21.5 billion dirhams, according to a state companies report attached to Morocco's 2027 budget bill. The results were achieved despite a twelvefold increase in investment to 3.5 billion dirhams, directed primarily at fleet expansion. The carrier operated around 71 aircraft by the end of September 2026, up from approximately 50 in 2023.

The growth forms part of an ambitious long-term strategy underpinned by a government financing agreement running to 2037, under which RAM aims to reach a fleet of 200 aircraft at a cost of roughly $25 billion. The plan targets revenues of nearly 94 billion dirhams, more than 100 new international destinations, 46 domestic routes and 31.6 million passengers - directly supporting Morocco's goal of attracting 26 million tourists by the end of the decade and its preparations to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
