The Wait is Over: Kingdom Is Here!

We’re thrilled that the BBC’s new wildlife series Kingdom has launched this November. Narrated by David Attenborough and filmed over five years, it follows the real-life dramas of four African apex predators—leopards, lions, hyenas, and wild dogs—right here in South Luangwa’s Nsefu Sector, Zambia where our own story began nearly 40 years ago.

Kingdom is especially meaningful to us. Not only was it filmed in the Nsefu Sector, home to our Nsefu Camp, Tena Tena, and Luangwa Bush Camping, but we also hosted the BBC crew throughout the project. Working alongside filmmakers Will & Lianne Steenkamp (based at Nsefu Camp and known for Olimba: Leopard Legacy) and the Zambian Carnivore Programme (ZCP), we had a front-row seat to this remarkable production. Seeing the predators we know and love on screen makes this series truly personal.

And yes—the late Olimba features too! Those who saw her on safari or followed her story will be delighted to see her return alongside her family, joined by three other carnivore dynasties: Tenta’s Hyena Clan, Rita’s Lion Pride, and Storm’s Wild Dog Pack.

Kingdom premiered on BBC One on Sunday, 9 November, and is also available on BBC iPlayer. For viewers in North America, it debuts 24 January 2026 on BBC America and AMC+.

In honour of Kingdom’s launch, we’re introducing our brand-new Nsefu Kingdom Safari. This exclusive six-guest departure on 23 August 2026 gives your clients the chance to explore the very landscapes where the series was filmed, staying at Nsefu and Tena Tena and guided by safari legend Keyala “Kiki” Phiri.

So, tune in, enjoy one of the greatest wildlife documentaries of our time, and once you’ve watched it, let us take your clients to experience our “Kingdom” for themselves.

More details coming soon. In the meantime, drop us an email for more information.
