Report Reveals African Countries with Best & Easiest Visa Procedures

The latest Visa Openness Report shows significant progress among African countries in facilitating travel across the continent. Notably, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) stands out, ranking joint second among the eight Regional Economic Communities (RECs). Seychelles, a member of SADC, achieved a perfect score in the report. Other notable performers in the SADC include Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, and Tanzania, all ranking within the top 20 for 2023.
But the report also highlights a disparity within the SADC, as six of its members fall in the lower half of the performance spectrum. This variation underscores the ongoing efforts and challenges in achieving uniform visa openness across the region.
Visa openness is crucial for Africa's tourism industry, serving as a catalyst for economic growth. Easier visa procedures encourage more travellers, fostering cultural exchanges and boosting local economies. African countries with more open visa policies have seen increased tourist arrivals, directly impacting their hospitality sectors and related industries.
