Qatar and Tanzania sign MoU to strengthen tourism partnership

Qatar and Tanzania have signed a significant memorandum of understanding to bolster cooperation in tourism development between the two nations. The agreement, inked in Dar es Salaam, aims to promote Tanzania's attractions at Qatari forums and exhibitions, whilst enhancing collaboration between tourism stakeholders from both countries.
Tanzania's Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Angellah Kairuki, and Qatari Ambassador Fahad Rashid Al Marekhi finalised the deal at the Tanzania Tourist Board headquarters. The partnership extends beyond tourism, encompassing cultural heritage development and artistic exchanges.
Qatar Airways, a major carrier to Tanzania's tourist sites, will play a crucial role in this collaboration. Tanzania is set to participate in the upcoming Qatar Travel Mart 2024, showcasing various tourism segments including luxury, medical, and halal tourism.
This agreement also opens doors for Tanzania in the Middle Eastern meat market, with Qatar currently being the leading importer of Tanzanian meat. The multifaceted partnership promises to invigorate both nations' tourism sectors and strengthen economic ties.
