Qatar Airways will increase its flight frequency between Doha, Maputo, and Durban to a daily service from 3 June 2025, up from the current five weekly flights. The enhanced schedule aims to improve connectivity between the Middle East and Southern Africa, providing greater flexibility for leisure and business travellers. The route, which includes a stop in Maputo, strengthens links between Qatar, Mozambique, and South Africa, while also offering seamless access to Qatar Airways’ global network of over 170 destinations via Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

The daily service is expected to support regional tourism and trade, enhancing Durban’s appeal as a coastal and business hub and reinforcing Maputo’s role as a gateway to Mozambique’s cultural and natural attractions. This expansion aligns with Qatar Airways’ strategy to boost connectivity across Africa, positioning the airline as a key partner in driving inbound and outbound travel. Tourism businesses in Southern Africa stand to benefit from increased visitor flows, with improved access for international travellers seeking multi-destination itineraries within the region.
