Positive outlook for Seychelles Tourism as visitor arrivals peak

Seychelles is experiencing a surge in tourism, with visitor arrivals reaching record levels and a promising forecast for the year's end. Recent data from the Seychelles National Bureau of Statistics shows that 294,071 visitors arrived between 1 January and 3 November 2024, reflecting a 1% increase compared to the same period last year. Following a slower second and third quarter, arrivals rebounded significantly from early October, with weekly visitor numbers surpassing those of 2023 and 2022, even outperforming peak 2019 figures in some weeks.
European visitors dominate, comprising 73% of total arrivals, with significant contributions from Germany, France, and Russia, together making up 39% of total visitors. Key non-European markets, including the UAE and USA, also showed impressive growth, with increases of 18% and 14%, respectively.
Tourism officials credit this growth to enhanced connectivity and effective marketing collaborations, which have bolstered Seychelles’ global appeal. The island nation’s tourism sector remains resilient, with its strategic partnerships and focus on providing exceptional experiences keeping it a premier choice for travellers worldwide.
