Experience Swakopmund: Opening of Ondili's Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse in western Namibia

Following extensive renovations, Ondili's Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse in the Namibian coastal town of Swakopmund once again welcomes its guests. The guesthouse reopened in April this year and true to the Ondili philosophy continues to be a home away from home for travellers – because ondili maeumbo, from the Oshiwambo language, means I am at home.

Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse is located in the heart of Swakopmund, close to the famous Mole pier. Diversity, culture and an extra dose of action make this lively town a popular destination. Some 360 kilometres from the capital city, Windhoek, Swakopmund is wedged between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert. This town is the administrative capital of the Erongo Region.

Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse offers a tranquil retreat for holidaymakers. It consists of seven comfortable guest rooms which line a central landscaped garden. The main building with its distinctive, stylish atmosphere is a former captain's house built in 1912. The entrance area and the rooms were completely refurbished in the classic and maritime style of the coastal town to bring back the soul of the old property. The original reception rooms serve as a cosy breakfast restaurant and lounge to relax and unwind. Brigadoon Boutique Guesthouse is the perfect starting point to explore the coastal town and the region.

Holidaymakers have a wide range of exciting activities to choose from in and around Swakopmund. On excursions into the living desert or on boat trips on the Walvis Bay lagoon they can get a little closer to the local fauna. On a tour into the barren Moon Landscape they will discover an other-wordly rugged mass of gravelly hills. The beach and the historic town centre with shops and restaurants are close to the Brigadoon – ideal for leisurely strolls.
