A blend of art and design, One&Only Cape Town’s beloved spa has had a celestial-inspired transformation, offering unparalleled experiences of sanctuary and serenity. Drawing from the timeless beauty of the southern skies and the travel-inspired nature of the Southern Cross constellation, One&Only Spa’s soothing tones of blues and greys greet guests as twinkling star-like lights lead the way to a wellness journey like no other. The southern cross constellation is particularly pertinent to South Africa as it remains visible in the Cape skies all year long; an ancient compass for the old and young alike.

A Celestial Design
Every surrounding detail has been meticulously designed by interior extraordinaries Muza Lab, the visionaries behind One&Only Cape Town’s refurbishment and latest dining destination, ROOI. Renowned for their attention to detail, Muza Lab has seamlessly blended artistry with ambience to ensure synchronicity between décor and concept. This is evident from the moment of entry as the reception immediately captivates with a magnificent rope installation by renowned design duo John-Henry and Mimi Roberts of Kent and Lane.
Having been inspired by organic forms and celestial textures the soft-tasselled feature adds to the overall sense of tranquillity of the Spa whilst an effortless elegance is delicately inlaid throughout each treatment room and wet facilities, each complete with flowing white linens and deep blue hues. Copper constellation-inspired light installations create soft ambient lighting to interplay alongside multi-textured walls with the celestial theme is further embraced by the vitality pools’ ceiling, having been transformed into a star-strewn haven with a custom lighting installation to provide a sensory respite for guests whilst enjoying the warm waters.
The Full Moon Menu
Only offered once in a month, the spa’s new ‘Full Moon Menu’ is crafted to guide you on a transformative voyage, inspired by the infinite beauty and mystery of the cosmos whilst being directly influenced by the lunar cycle. As a unique monthly celebration of renewal, growth and re-discovery, each treatment harnesses the moon’s energy and inspires emotional and physical harmony whilst simultaneously soothing both body and mind. The tranquil cosmic journey includes a sound bowl ceremony at dusk, followed by foot bath ceremonies, breath work, chakra balancing and meditation.
Three bespoke rituals are available for this exclusive offering, including the Empowerment Ritual, the Harmonising Ritual and the Stardust Sole Ritual. Each ritual has a tie into the lunar cycle, with a different phase of the moon being represented and incorporate Moonstones to ensure renewed energy and hope post treatment.
Celebrating the new moon as the beginning of a new cycle, the Empowerment Ritual, using a combination of anointing oil, jade rollers and swift massage strokes, is a full body massage that aligns the guests’ energies and centers as one, leaving them feeling uplifted, invigorated and empowered as their daily muscle tension is released. While the Harmonising Ritual, a slow, sensory treatment, uses a Kansa wand (a time-honoured traditional Indian meditation and relaxation tool) offers an opportunity to reflect, cleanse, and harmonise with nature, the mind and body surrenders to stillness with this full body massage, cultivating a profound sense of peace and emotional clarity that lingers on long after the ritual concludes. Inspired by the full moon, a time representative of cycle’s end, the Stardust Sole Ritual invites guests to renew oneself and begin afresh as released stored fatigue leaves the body weightless and guest feeling rejuvenated thereafter.
