Nomad’s impact on the ground in 2025

At Nomad, we’ve always believed that a safari is more than just a journey through wild places, it’s a catalyst for meaningful change. In the first few months of 2025, our community and conservation team have been hard at work across Tanzania, quietly delivering projects that support the long-term wellbeing of both people and place.

From the shores of Lake Tanganyika to the villages bordering Tarangire, we’ve focused on areas where small, well-placed interventions can create lasting ripples. Our work this season has ranged from supporting secondary school students with bicycles and boarding fees, to running youth skills programmes and hosting empowerment workshops for girls in remote areas. Alongside this, we’ve brought healthcare to under-served communities, expanded regenerative agriculture training, and supported young tourism students with real-world experience.

Our team have also been focussing on the frontlines of human-wildlife conflict, completing 50 elephant watch towers along the edge of Tarangire National Park - providing farming communities with safe means to protect crops while supporting co-existence with wildlife.

These initiatives are about long-term relationships, local leadership, and practical support - delivered quietly, consistently, and in partnership with the communities who make our presence in these wild places possible.

We’re grateful, as ever, to our trade partners for being part of this story. Every guest you send our way helps sustain our virtuous circle where safaris support livelihoods, livelihoods protect wilderness, and wilderness enriches us all.
