Nigeria's Enugu Air Receives Air Operator Certificate to Launch Scheduled Services
Nigeria's aviation sector has gained a new carrier after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) issued an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Enugu Air on 10 March 2026, clearing the airline to commence scheduled flight operations. The certificate was presented at a ceremony held at the NCAA's corporate headquarters in Abuja, attended by aviation officials, airline executives and representatives of the Enugu State Government.
NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo commended the airline for completing the rigorous certification process – which included operational demonstrations, documentation reviews and multiple evaluation stages – while urging continued compliance with safety and operational standards. Enugu Air's Accountable Manager, Capt. Tolu Ita, described the certification as "a dream come true", while Enugu State Commissioner for Transportation Dr. Obi Ozor noted the airline was conceived to strengthen connectivity for businesses and travellers in the region. Board Chairman Richard Agu pledged the airline's commitment to maintaining the standards required to retain its certification.
