Ngorongoro steps up road upgrades to improve year‑round access

Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority is intensifying upgrades and maintenance across its 646‑kilometre road network to ensure seamless access for tourists, investors and local communities. Commissioner Abdul‑Razaq Badru, following an inspection in Endulen, said works are ongoing without interruption, with machinery operational to keep routes passable in all seasons.

Priority projects include Loduare – Golini (88 km), View Point – Naiyobi (76 km), Kimba – Endulen – headquarters (77 km, managed by TANROADS), Endulen – Ndutu (52 km), Ndutu – Golini (23 km), Olduvai Museum – Nasera (54 km) and crater rim roads totalling 110 km. The programme aims to improve safety and travel times and is expected to boost visitor confidence, attract investment and broaden economic opportunities for communities in and around Ngorongoro.
