New Nature Guide Training School Launches in KwaZulu-Natal

A new guide training school has opened in KwaZulu-Natal, aiming to expand conservation-focused tourism careers for local youth. Launched by the Isibindi Foundation in partnership with Infiniti Insurance, the Nature Guide Training Programme will offer participants the FGASA-accredited Nature Site Guide NQF2 qualification, providing essential knowledge and practical skills for working professionally in natural environments.

The initiative targets young people from communities bordering Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park and iSimangaliso Wetland Park. It has been recognised by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) for its role in building local capacity and fostering links between communities, conservation areas, and the tourism sector. Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge, part of the network of Isibindi Africa Lodges is another strategic partner.
