New Member - Zululand Conservation Trust
The Zululand Conservation Trust (ZCT) is a non-profit organisation based in the heart of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Established in 2011, the Trust is committed to the long-term conservation of endangered species and their habitats, while actively supporting and uplifting the neighbouring communities that live alongside protected areas.
ZCT works in close partnership with Manyoni Private Game Reserve and other conservation stakeholders to implement targeted, high-impact projects across the region. ZCT's work is driven by two core pillars: wildlife conservation—focusing on the protection of species such as black and white rhinos, wild dogs, cheetahs, and pangolins—and community upliftment, addressing economic, food, and water security, education, and sustainable development. The organisation’s holistic RED model (Rehabilitate, Expand, Develop) guides its strategic approach, ensuring ecological restoration, protected area expansion, and community resilience through job creation and training.
Funded through individual and corporate donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events, ZCT ensures that 96% of all funds go directly to project implementation. The Trust’s strong track record, deep regional knowledge, and established partnerships make it a leader in integrated conservation and community development in Zululand.
