New Member - Sediba Luxury Safari Lodge

Sediba Luxury Safari Lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, which lies within the greater 550,000-hectare Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. This UNESCO heritage site is in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, a mere 3.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg. The region is renowned for its magnificent, rugged topography, interspersed with plateaus, gorges and valleys. Vegetation is largely defined by semi-deciduous forests and classic “bushveld” grasslands. The Welgevonden Game Reserve covers +38,000 hectares and is home to a prolific volume of wildlife, with over 60 species of mammals – including The Big Five – and over 300 bird species. The reserve is malaria-free and enjoys a temperate climate, being at an average elevation of 1,450 metres. The cold, dry season is from May to July (nights in particular become extremely cold with frost in higher-lying areas). August to October brings dry, warmer weather, however, nights can still be chilly. The rainy season is traditionally from November to April, often in the form of spectacular electric storms and thundershowers.

Sediba Safari Lodge presents two outstanding individual lodges: Sediba Rock Lodge and Sediba Mountain Lodge. Sediba Rock Lodge is characterised by its rocky landscape set among the verdant mountains. Ten generously sized double suites each have a private lounge and dining area, en-suite bathroom, wood-burning fireplace, and an inviting heated Jacuzzi on the extensive leisure deck overlooking the vast hills and valleys. The main lodge areas feature a spa, sauna, gymnasium, natural rock pool and traditional ‘boma’.

Sediba Mountain Lodge is set atop a plateau, with spectacular vistas of the surrounding wilderness. It offers a more intimate feel – with an infinity pool and traditional ‘boma’ – and is perfect for families, groups of friends or smaller corporate getaways. The lodge offers four spacious double suites and one family suite, in keeping with the Sediba Safari Lodge ethos of African design elements and elegant accents. The suites share the same in-suite facilities as found at Sediba Rock Lodge.

The Welgevonden Game Reserve has a fully equipped airstrip for all flight requirements.
