Marangu Hotel began its history as a farmhouse built in the early 1900s. We opened our doors to guests in the early 1920s and started organizing mountain climbs in the 1930s. We are a family-owned business, with a long history and deep connection to Kilimanjaro and Tanzania. Marangu Hotel is nestled amongst 12 lush acres, with a variety of exotic trees and flowering shrubs. There are magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro from Marangu Hotel’s gardens. Guests can enjoy a clear view of Kili’s peaks – the iconic, ice-capped Kibo and the rocky Mawenzi – while enjoying a cool drink!
