We are an 8-tent safari camp located in the central Serengeti of Tanzania - GPS coordinates: 2°16'56.23"S 34°50'12.42"E.

We are an excellent choice for your safari camp in the Central Serengeti area in Tanzania. We cater to all types of clienteles but specialize in photographers & photography groups. As a year-round safari camp, we are in the prime location for the Migration and calving of the millions of wildebeest and zebra that come here each year to give birth to a new generation. The calving season is an epic event! We are about 25KM from the Seronera airstrip near Banangi Mountain and the Orangi River.

The central Serengeti in Tanzania supports a greater diversity of resident wildlife than anywhere else in the Serengeti including elephant, giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, Topi, reedbuck, buffalo and baboon. This resident prey attracts the highest concentrations of large predators in Africa - lion, hyena, leopard and cheetah and a multitude of smaller predators like mongoose, jackal, serval and bat-eared fox. There is no better place for a safari camp to be in Tanzania! We have 8 large safari tents. We strive to retain the intimacy of the camp while providing excellent service with a close proximity to the abundant wildlife of the area. Our tents are a spacious 28 feet long by 16.5 feet wide (8mx5.5m) and are constructed of heavy-duty safari-grade rip-stop canvas made locally in Tanzania.

We add an additional cooling feature of shade-cloth over each tent. The tents have 5 large, netted windows which you can fully open with mosquito netting stitched into the actual tent. Each tent also has a 3-speed oscillating fan to help keep you cool on hotter days. We want you to feel at home and be comfortable while at Elwai Camp.
