Namibia has announced a significant expansion of its visa on arrival scheme, aiming to attract more tourists and simplify entry procedures. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security officially launched the initiative on Monday, adding five new border posts to the programme.

Previously, visitors could only obtain visas upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay Airport, and specific land border crossings. Now, tourists arriving at Oshikango, Mohembo, Oranjemund, Ariamsvlei, and Noordoewer can also acquire their visas on entry.

Minister of Home Affairs Albert Kawana attributed the move to a recent tourism boom and the government's efforts to streamline travel processes. He highlighted the addition of online visa options alongside the expanded visa on arrival programme.
