Namibia Aims to Establish New International Air Routes

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) launched the Air Connect Namibia project to establish new international flight routes to the country's airports, aiming to boost tourism, trade and foreign investment.

At the launch, NAC CEO Bisey Uirab said the initiative aligns with their mission to enhance Namibia's connectivity, focusing initially on Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek. The goal is for Namibia to become the top logistics hub in the SADC region through new aviation pacts.

The project stems from the 2022 Namibia Aviation and Connectivity Forum which identified developing air services as key for reimagining the aviation sector's role in driving national economic growth. The forum brought stakeholders together to discuss propelling growth through the aviation industry.
