Morocco Hosts US Tour Operators for First Time
Morocco has hosted the 2026 USTOA Out of Country Meeting for the first time, welcoming around 50 participants from the North American travel industry, including board members, tour operator executives, and product development specialists. The event, held in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and running from 19 to 29 March, took delegates across key destinations including Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Tangier, Chefchaouen, and Marrakech. A dedicated board meeting in Rabat on 25 March provided a platform for direct engagement between American and Moroccan tourism professionals, focusing on ONMT's strategy for the North American market and near-term business opportunities.
The initiative forms part of Morocco's broader push to expand its presence in North American tour operator catalogues and drive visitor growth through to 2030. The event coincided with Morocco's participation in the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin from 23 to 25 March, where the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering led a national delegation to promote hotel investment opportunities. Together, the two engagements reflect Morocco's increasingly proactive approach to attracting both tourists and foreign investment ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
