Mombasa Air Safari boosts Mara and coast links with new aircraft

Mombasa Air Safari has introduced its first DHC-8-100 into commercial service, operating from Nairobi Wilson to the Masai Mara and coastal destinations including Ukunda, Mombasa and Malindi. The aircraft entered service on 26 December following a repositioning from Mombasa on 19 December, strengthening connectivity on key safari and beach routes during the peak season.

The turboprop was acquired outright from Avmax Aircraft Leasing in September 2025, with a second Dash 8 planned. The upgrade aims to enhance passenger comfort and capacity on routes long served by the carrier’s fleet of Cessna 208 Grand Caravans, with the Dash 8 now flying to multiple Mara airstrips and Amboseli – a move that supports demand and operational efficiency across Kenya’s core tourism corridors.
