MEP partners with Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum for Nairobi event

The Mara Elephant Project (MEP) has partnered with the Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum (GCTDF 2026), taking place 2 – 6 March 2026 in Nairobi and Konza Technopolis. Under the theme “Technology in Service of Nature: Protecting Wildlife, Supporting People, Restoring Ecosystems”, the event will convene rangers, community leaders, technologists, researchers, policymakers and youth from across Africa and beyond to advance practical technology for wildlife protection and ecosystem restoration.

GCTDF 2026 will focus on drones, satellite sensors, GIS and data‑driven platforms to strengthen biodiversity conservation, land‑use planning and community resilience. As a conservation partner, MEP will support the inaugural Youth Conservation Tech Award 2026 for innovators aged 25 and under, with winners selected through multi‑stakeholder judging and recognised during a plenary; recipients receive certificates, sponsored participation and forum visibility. MEP will share its work in ranger training, drone operations and data‑led responses to human–elephant conflict, with an emphasis on ethical, inclusive and scalable tech – developments of growing relevance to wildlife tourism and destination resilience.
