Mauritius tour operators start Uganda familiarisation – targeting market growth

A delegation of Mauritian tour operators has begun a week‑long familiarisation safari in Uganda, hosted by the Uganda High Commission in Dar es Salaam and the Uganda Tourism Board. Starting on 24 November 2025 in Kampala, the programme is designed to strengthen Uganda’s positioning in Southern African source markets by showcasing its adventure, wildlife and cultural offer to the trade.

The group was received by First Secretary Laura Kahuga and attended a cultural evening at Ndere Cultural Centre before embarking on site visits including Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park and mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. UTB says the initiative supports partnerships with Mauritian operators and aligns with broader efforts to lift international arrivals and promote Uganda’s natural and cultural heritage.
