Marriott International has made its debut in Cape Verde with the opening of the Four Points by Sheraton São Vicente Resort, situated above Laginha Beach in the port city of Mindelo on São Vicente Island. The 127-room property marks three milestones for the group: Marriott's first hotel in Cape Verde, the 500th select service hotel in its Europe, Middle East and Africa portfolio, and the first Four Points by Sheraton resort offering in the Africa region. The resort features an infinity pool, skybridge beach access, a spa, conference facilities, and multiple dining outlets, with interiors drawing on the island's architecture, musical heritage, and local artistic tradition.

The opening reflects continued hospitality investment in Cape Verde, an archipelago gaining traction as a leisure destination with growing international appeal. Select service hotels now account for more than 30% of Marriott's EMEA portfolio, with the group citing strong regional demand for consistent, modern accommodation at accessible price points. The Four Points by Sheraton São Vicente Resort is positioned to serve both leisure travellers and business guests, offering a blend of resort-style amenities and meeting facilities in one of West Africa's most culturally distinctive island destinations.
