Malawi Airlines to add Lilongwe – Johannesburg flights
Malawi Airlines will introduce three additional non‑stop weekly services between Lilongwe (LLW) and Johannesburg (JNB) from 6 December 2025, operating on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights will depart Lilongwe at 10:20 and arrive in Johannesburg at 12:35, with the return sector leaving Johannesburg at 13:25 and landing in Lilongwe at 15:40. The move complements the existing daily Lilongwe – Johannesburg service via Blantyre, taking the route to 10 weekly frequencies.
The added non‑stop options respond to rising demand for faster intra‑African travel and improve access to South Africa’s domestic and international network. The schedule is expected to support business links and leisure flows, bolster Malawi’s tourism proposition around Lake Malawi and national parks, and aligns with regional connectivity goals under the Single African Air Transport Market.
