Malawi Airlines Adds Afternoon Lilongwe - Johannesburg Service from 24 August
Malawi Airlines will introduce additional direct flights between Lilongwe (LLW) and Johannesburg (JNB) from 24 August 2026, complementing its existing morning service on the route via Blantyre. The new flights will operate daily except Mondays, departing Lilongwe at 16h50 and arriving in Johannesburg at 19h05, with return flights departing Johannesburg at 20h00 and arriving in Lilongwe at 22h15.
The expanded schedule increases connectivity between Malawi and South Africa, offering travellers greater flexibility with an afternoon departure option on one of the region's key bilateral routes. The addition of an evening return service from Johannesburg is particularly relevant for business travellers and those connecting through OR Tambo International Airport to onward destinations.
