Major airlift boost for SA

Cathay Pacific, TAAG Angola Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines are boosting their weekly flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, according to notices published in the June 19 Government Gazette

As reported in Travel News in January, Cathay Pacific will reinstate its service to South Africa from August 2.  It initially said it would run three flights a week to Johannesburg. However, it has now applied for the rights to operate daily flights between Hong Kong and Johannesburg; three flights a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) between HKG and CPT and one flight a week, on a Saturday, between HKG and DUR - a total of 11 return flights a week.
