Madagascar Airlines boosts regional access
Madagascar Airlines is expanding its regional network with a new inter‑island route linking La Réunion – Toamasina – Sainte‑Marie, operated with Air Austral under a codeshare and special prorate agreement and marketed under Madagascar Airlines flight numbers. The routing is designed to enable same‑day connections for international arrivals via La Réunion, improving access to Sainte‑Marie and Madagascar’s east coast for tourism.
The carrier is also deploying additional ATR 72s and restructuring its domestic network to add frequencies and open point‑to‑point links between provincial centres such as Nosy Be, Toliara and Toamasina – reducing the need to route via Antananarivo. Broadened partnerships with Air Austral, Air France, Emirates and others offer single‑ticket itineraries and smoother transfers, cutting journey times to coastal and wildlife destinations across Madagascar.
