Lufthansa's Discover Airlines launches new routes to Seychelles and Mauritius
Discover Airlines, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, has announced plans to launch direct flights from Frankfurt to two prime Indian Ocean destinations - Seychelles and Mauritius - starting winter 2025.
The new service to Seychelles will commence on October 26, 2025, with twice-weekly non-stop flights from Frankfurt. This development marks the first direct connection between Germany and Seychelles, filling a significant gap in Germany's international air network.
The airline is also enhancing its Mauritius service by adding an additional direct Frankfurt-Mauritius flight for the winter season. As part of the route optimisation, arrival times to Mauritius will shift from early morning to midday, with some services converting from day flights to night flights.
These new routes represent a strategic expansion of Discover Airlines' long-haul portfolio, particularly targeting the premium leisure market. The move also complements existing Lufthansa Group services in the Indian Ocean region, including those operated by sister airline Edelweiss from Zurich.
The new flight schedules have been designed to maximize convenience for leisure travellers, with an interconnected routing system linking both Indian Ocean destinations. This development significantly enhances the Lufthansa Group's presence in the region, offering German travellers more direct access to these popular tropical destinations.
Flight schedules and booking details will be announced in the coming months, according to the airline.
