German airline Lufthansa is introducing its premium Allegris seat cabins on flights to and from Cape Town starting 27 October 2024. The first African destination to offer the new luxury cabins, Cape Town will see the Allegris First and Business Class seats on Lufthansa's Munich to Cape Town route, operated by an Airbus A350 aircraft.

"We are delighted to bring the Allegris seat cabins to Cape Town only five months after its introduction," said René Koinzack from Lufthansa. "This will mark a significant milestone for Lufthansa's presence in the region."

The Allegris Business Class provides several enhanced seating options including extra-long 2.2m beds, increased workspace, window privacy seats, and convertible double seats. Customers can reserve specific Allegris seats free during an introductory period.

Part of a €2.5 billion product overhaul, the Allegris cabins aim to elevate the passenger experience. Lufthansa is also increasing its Cape Town flight frequency, offering 17 weekly flights by late October to its Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich hubs via partner Edelweiss.

The premium cabin launch reinforces Cape Town's status as a key destination for Lufthansa amid growing travel demand to the region. Pricing details will be released closer to the Allegris service debut.
